With racing taking place all year round from January through to December, Chelmsford City Racecourse is so much more than a racing venue alone with some stellar musical acts fulfilling an action-packed itinerary this month.
British soul and pop giants Simply Red kicked off the venue’s Summer Nights music programme at the start of the month with more to come throughout the rest of July!

Conquer The Course | Saturday 16th July 2016
A great example of Chelmsford City Racecourse’s versatility lay in the fact the venue are hosting an extreme obstacle challenge this Saturday.
A first for the racecourse, the ‘Conquer The Course’ event is designed as an ultimate fitness challenge with 21 obstacles scattered around the oval polytrack course which ardent racegoers will know of course spans one mile long.
With doors open from 9am to 3pm, the event is ideal for the entire family.
All-Weather Racing | Tuesday 19th July 2016
The only remaining all-weather raceday for July is coming up next Tuesday.
A seven-race all-weather card with the first race beginning at 5:50pm in the evening, Chelmsford City Racecourse is a fantastic venue to socialise with colleagues after work, having a flutter with friends or alternatively, bringing the entire family.
With gates open from 3:50pm in the afternoon, the final race takes place at 8:50pm in the evening.
Katherine Jenkins & NSO | Thursday 21st July 2016
Further underlining Chelmsford City Racecourse’s status as a top location for some of music’s top names to perform, the venue welcomes classical superstar Katherine Jenkins and the National Symphony Orchestra later this month.
With the racecourse also permitting picnics on this special occasion, let’s hope that the sun stays out for this unmissable evening concert.
Rick Astley, Paul Young & Toyah | Friday 22nd July 2016
The big names keep on coming in July with just a 24-hour turnaround from Katherine Jenkins preceding Rick Astley, Paul Young and Toyah on the Friday.
Arriving at Chelmsford City Racecourse following a sold out 2016 tour, Rick Astley will make you step back in time to the eighties for one evening with Paul Young and Toyah making up a cracking bill.
